Canine Nutrition
First, things first, dogs are not wolves! Dogs have been domesticated for probably 100,000s of years with us. As a result, they stopped functioning and merely hunters and began eating similar food to us. They ate our table scraps, and leavings. Indeed, domestic dogs have 2 copies of the AMY2B gene which specifically aids in digestion of grain. That's twice as many copies as wolves. See here for a nice journal article on point.
